K. Dean Reeves, M.D.K. Dean Reeves, M.D. is a physician and medical researcher. He holds a faculty appointment from the University of Kansas as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. His private practice is located in Olathe/Gardner, Kansas (Rehabilitation) and in northern Johnson County (Chronic sprain/strain and arthritis pain research). He collaborates in research with other locations across the country and internationally. Dr. Reeves trained at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He is licensed in the states of Kansas and Missouri. Dr. Reeves has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications in the area of regenerative injection therapy (prolotherapy) in journals such as The Pain Physician, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Biomechanics Magazine, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, North American Clinics in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Journal of Orthopaedic Medicine. He has authored chapters in pain management texts such as Pain Procedures in Clinical Practice (2000 Edition), The Practice of Minimally Invasive Spinal Technique (2005 Edition), and Pain Management (2007 Edition). Dr. Reeves has spoken nationally and internationally for annual meetings of such organizations as the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine, Kuwaiti Medical Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the National Athletic Trainer's Association, and the Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Spinal Specialists.
Jonathan Fenton, DOJonathan Fenton, DO is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, as well as Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine & Osteopathic Manipulation. His practice in Winooski, VT is focused primarily on manipulation and interventional pain procedures, including regenerative procedures. He is a contributing author to An Osteopathic Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment, 1st-3rd Editions, Schiowitz, S and DiGiovanna, E, editors; 1996-2005, Lippincott: New York. In the New England area he has been active in training of physicians in areas as diverse as osteopathic manipulation, prolotherapy, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound guided injection.
John Merriman, M.D.Dr. Merriman graduated from Queenıs University in 1947 with the MD and CM degrees. For 21 years he was at the University of Saskatchewan teaching and doing research in Cardiology. In 1969, Dr Merriman instituted the first in-hospital cardiac rehabilitation program in the world. He has published 54 scientific articles. In 1975, he left his position as Professor of Medicine to become the first appointee in the new College of Medicine at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1977 he entered into private practice in Tulsa as an internist, only to be discouraged about his ability to help patients with musculoskeletal pain. In 1987, Dr. Merriman attended his first meeting of the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine (AAOM) to learn about Prolotherapy, and he subsequently studied with Gus Hemwall.Much of his professional life since has been dedicated to prolotherapy. He has documented a strikingly lengthy case series of prolotherapy treatments with excellent outcomes, and has made several scientific presentations on his research. Dr. Merriman has served on the AAOM Board and in 2005 was presented AAOMıs Lifetime Achievement Award.
Arthur Schurgin, D.O.This interventional pain medicine specialist practices in the Phoenix area and utilizes the emerging technology of digital motion X-ray for diagnostic purposes and to direct rehabilitative care. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management, and he is a certified independent medical examiner. Dr. Schurgin is a lecturer and Assistant Clinical Professor at Midwestern University/Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Schurgin has participated in clinical trials related to postherpetic neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome, and migraine cephalgia.
David M. Crane MDDr. Crane has been performing proliferative therapy for five years and has been utilizing bioactive agents with ultrasound guidance almost exclusively for two years. Dr. Crane is board certified in both Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Dr. Crane has taught proliferative therapy and the use of bioactive agents throughout the country. His practice is located in Chesterfield, Missouri, and focuses primarily on under-recovery tendinosis injuries in endurance athletes. Dr. Crane's other interests in myofascial medicine include tensegrity structures and hormonal influences on tissue healing. Dr. Cranes interests outside of the clinic include triathlon and adventure racing.
Klee S. Bethel, MDKlee S. Bethel, MD is a board certified Anesthesiologist. His practice in Mesa, Arizona is focused on interventional pain medicine. He is a graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine, and he has completed general surgery residency at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, as well as anesthesiology residence at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix.Board of Directors.
Rick Marinelli, N.D., M.Ac.O.M.Dr. Marinelli is the incoming President of the American Academy of Pain Management, the largest pain management organization in the U.S. He is a gifted teacher and has received numerous accolades for his courses and has developed the specialty concentration in Physical medicine, Orthopedic medicine, Neurology, and Pain Management. Dr. Marinelli is a longtime member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, The American Association of Orthopedic Medicine, The American Academy of Neural Therapy. He currently serves by the Governor's appointment on the Oregon Pain Management Commission and is the Chair of the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Examiners. He is a founding board member of NATI.
Harry Adelson, N.D.Dr. Adelson, the founding president of the Naturopathic Academy of Therapeutic Injection, practices exclusively prolotherapy (with and without the use of platelet rich plasma), mesotherapy, regional anesthesia and intravenous micronutrient therapy. He teaches and lectures extensively on these topics in the US and abroad.He lectured on the use of platelet rich plasma with prolotherapy/regenerative injection therapy at the Taiwanese chapter of the Chinese Association for the Study of Pain on March 17th, 2007. He also lectured on prolotherapy and mesotherapy at the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology in Chengdu, China, April 15th, 2006. He is the only American doctor to have lectured and taught hands-on practicum groups with the French Society of Mesotherapy. He has lectured on and demonstrated prolotherapy and mesotherapy at the 2004 and 2005 meetings of the American Academy of Pain Management and has authored a chapter on these subjects which is included in the seventh edition of their textbook, Pain Management, a Guide for Clinicians.
Jonas Skardis, D.O.M.Dr. Skardis is an interventional pain management specialist sub-specializing in prolotherapy - non-surgical reconstruction of the spine and peripheral joints. He teaches prolotherapy in New Mexico, and as part of NATI. He is one of the founders of NATI and serves as Education Committee Chair and Program Director for the prolotherapy modules. Dr. Skardis is in his 35th year of practice, certified in pain management and impairment rating.
Kevin Wilson, N.D.Dr. Wilson has been in general practice for 20 years with a special emphasis on physical medicine including 10 years of RIT/prolotherapy. He is past-chair of the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Examiners, past-board member of the AANP and the OANP. He currently is the chair of the Formulary Council for the OBNE and Operational Board member of Complementary Healthcare Plans. Dr. Wilson is a founding member of the Naturopathic Academy of Therapeutic Injection.
JoAnna Forwell, N.D.Originally from Canada, Dr Forwell came to Seattle to study medicine at Bastyr University, graduated in 1992, and has been practicing medicine in the Emerald City ever since. Her specialty areas are that of women's medicine, hormonal imbalances, gastro-intestinal disorders, weight loss, injury and pain management. She has been using various injection techniques commencing with neural therapy, since the outset. She has mentored with Dietrich Klinghardt and Rick Marinelli studying neural and rejenerative injection therapies and has studied mesotherapy in France. She is a former member of the board of both the American and Washington Associations of Naturopathic Physicians, is a current NATI board member and teaches for NATI as an adjunct in the hands-on labs.
Michael Cronin, N.D.Dr. Cronin is the founder of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and served as its President from 1992 to 1997. Dr. Cronin was a founding board member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and was on the founding Board of NATI as well. His practice in Scottsdale, Arizona and emphasizes physical medicine, integrating prolotherapy, manipulation and spinal decompression into a naturopathic treatment program. For the last year he has been utilizing autologous platelet concentrate as one of his prolotherapy solutions. Dr. Cronin is the coauthor of Herbal Solutions for Healthy Living and a diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management.
Noel Peterson, N.D.Dr. Peterson has practiced naturopathic medicine in Lake Oswego, Oregon for over 28 years. Since 1990 he has served as Director of the Center for Traditional Medicine, a multi discipline practice dedicated to empowering people to create optimal health through education, inspiration, and natural therapy. Prolotherapy is a key part of his personal practice. Dr. Peterson has served as Adjunct Clinical Professor at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, President of the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and board member of NATI. In this module Dr. Peterson will serve as a practicum instructor.
Donese Worden, N.M.D.Doctor Worden has a private practice in Scottsdale and Mesa, Arizona where she specializes in pain management. She has extensive training in neural therapy, prolotherapy, apitherapy and other RIT injections. She also trained in France for mesotherapy utilized for pain management and cosmetic indications. Dr. Worden is a member of the American Academy of Naturopathic Physicians, The American Academy of Pain Management, and the AZNMA. Dr. Worden lectures and teaches worldwide on low level laser therapy for pain management and cosmetic uses. Dr. Worden sits on the board of the Human Health Network at Arizona State University. She also chairs a medical advisory board for Olympian Labs, a natural product development company that distributes products to physicians worldwide. Dr. Worden is a diplomate in the American Academy of Pain Management and a faculty at Arizona State University, where she teaches classes for the Human Health department. She is also a member on the board of directors for NPBAM (Naturopathic Physicians Board of Aesthetic Medicine).
Payson Flattery, D.C., N.D.Dr. Payson Flattery is the medical director of the Center for Integrated Medicine in Redmond, Oregon. He specializes in integrative orthopedics with an emphasis on chronic pain. Dr. Flattery attended the Western States Chiropractic College and later continued his education at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. He integrates naturopathic medicine with orthopedic medicine addressing both the structural and metabolic roadblocks to pain and recovery. Dr. Flattery utilizes a number of treatment modalities while specializing in injection techniques. In addition to being a NATI faculty member, he serves on the board of directors, the credentialing committee, and as treasurer. Dr. Flattery is a diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management and member of the AAOM, AANP, OANP, and the ACA. |
